Mt Washington Valley, NH Snow Report – March 8, 2012
Last night Portland, Maine’s WCSH meteorologist Joe Cupo and evening news anchor Cindy Williams bantered about the beauty of warm temps bringing spring skiing conditions to ski resorts in New Hampshire and Maine. Best of all they covered the fact that colder temps throughout the winter in the mountains means that ski resorts and XC Centers still have plenty of snow thanks to the ideal snowmaking conditions from January and February. They got right to the heart of what makes this week’s warm temperatures ideal from a skiing perspective. Hat’s off to Joe and Cindy! Thanks!
While February was a light snow month throughout New England, ski resorts and XC Centers took advantage of colder temps and pounded their snowmaking machines throughout December, January and February. When coupled with mountain snow storms (11”- 16” of snow within the last 6 days at most resorts) base depths are still on the rise. Skiers can look forward to fun events bluebird skiing days and t-shirt weather being offered up by Mt Washington Valley’s ski resorts and XC Centers throughout March, not to mention continued snowmobiling, tubing, skating, Snow Coach, sleigh rides and more. Despite what your readers see in their backyards, Mt Washington Valley is still skier’s paradise!
